For the past decade, we have worked with every branch of the U.S. military, the Department of Defense and agencies such as the Department of Homeland Security and Federal Courts. We design and deploy wireless networks on budget and on time, providing extensive technology consultation and meeting rigorous customer requirements.
Our wireless solutions help U.S. warfighters, law enforcement officials and civilian personnel meet their mission-critical objectives, such as:
- Improving situational awareness in theaters of battle
- Increasing field mobility in the most rugged and remote terrain
- Shortening response time for medical and other emergencies
- Managing video surveillance to provide greater security, fight crime and combat terrorism
Customer Stories
Some of our recent U.S. military and federal government projects include:
Counter Rocket, Artillery and Mortar (C-RAM)
With this program, the U.S. Army protects warfighters operating in hostile environments, giving them additional time to seek shelter from incoming artillery. Taking a consultative approach, DNS worked with a large systems integrator and the Army to compare commercial, off-the-shelf technologies, leading to the selection of the Motorola PTP 45600 radio. During testing, our engineers provided in-depth technical assistance. Leveraging streamlined processes for quoting and inventory, we delivered bar-coded radios and peripherals for use in the field in less than eight weeks.
Rapid Aerostat Initial Deployment (RAID)
Deployed in forward operating bases in Iraq and Afghanistan, RAID enables persistent surveillance capabilities and timely warning of potential threats. The network is comprised of aerostats (blimps), radio towers, radios, cameras, radar and other technologies. With the help of DNS engineers, the RAID team evaluated and selected Motorola’s PTP 54600 for their RF needs. We helped determine the proper footprint for housing equipment in the RAID towers, delivered “train-the-trainer” classes and provided a system that pre-configures RF technology for use in rugged environments. DNS helped to deploy the new system in the field in several weeks.
Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA)
DNS provides wireless network design and technology recommendations for MDA programs sponsored by the Counter Narcotics and Terrorism Program Office. MDA is essential to monitoring coastal waters, keeping citizens and law enforcement officials safe in the U.S. and abroad. DNS worked closely with a systems integrator and the government to evaluate and test multiple products, resulting in the selection of Motorola’s PTP 58400, PTP 58600 and PTP 45600 systems, which provide the ample bandwidth, range and reliability needed to support MDA’s important missions.
